I love peppers for their variety, both in appearance and flavors. Peppers contain more vitamin C per ounce than an orange! The plants can handle the heat of summer but not the rains. Therefore I plant them in the fall and they yield plenty of fruit until April/May.
Here are a few different types I have grown in my back yard over the years.
The hottest in the world ‘Carolina Reaper’
‘Ancho Villa’
‘Black Pearl’
‘Socrates’
‘Flexum’ is sweet.
‘Biggie Chili’ is sweet too.
‘Pimiento’, thicker than a bell pepper.
Giant Acongacua
Peruvian Purple Pepper
Zig Zag
Super Chili
Santa Fe (Rio Grande type)
Prairie Fire
Poinsettia, one tall plant (3′)
Fish, variegated pepper
Inca Red Drop. 3′ x 5′.

Joe E Parker, mild
Ornamental Medusa
Yellow Cheese pimiento. Sweet!
