A jeweler I know needed to organize her many creations so I made this towering chest of drawers. The top part has three sides, screened, where she can hang earrings. The bottom part has ten shallow drawers for bracelets along with two deeper drawers for other storage.
This base will hold twelve drawers. It will rotate on a lazy Susan.
Inside frame that the drawers will ride on. Pocket hole joinery.
Hanging the frames (carcase)
Shallow drawers for small items. I will line half with black felt, half with brown.
The drawers resting in their frames.
I made the handles from a 1′ square piece of 3/4″ red oak. Used a round router bit for the groove, then lots of sanding.
The drawers are faced with 1/4″ thick red oak.
The top piece sits on a lazy Susan. Three sides are screened to hang earrings. I’ll hang a door on the back with a mirror.
Two larger drawers at the bottom ride on metal glides. I finished the exterior with hand-rubbed Danish oil.
Drawers lined with black and brown felt.
